Top Upcoming Events in Miami Beach

Fall is officially in South Florida and there are a series of events to welcome this new season in. The North Beach Bandshell is hosting the Miami Beach Music Festival, as well as the International Tennis Federation Kickoff on October 19, plus the Magic City Opera: Hansel & Gretel on October 25.

The seventh annual South Beach Seafood Festival beginning on October 22, bring top-tier chefs to the sands of Miami Beach and other venues to showcase their skills. Over at Normandy Fountain, Salsa Saturday brings the sounds of Tito Puente Jr. to the stage on October 26. Of course, it wouldn’t be Halloween season without the annual Halloween Half Marathon on Saturday, October 26.

North Beach Bandshell

The North Beach Bandshell had closed to begin construction on a new canopy that would ensure more events could be hosted throughout the year. The canopy is set to be completed in January 2020, but the Bandshell will be starting to host events, including the Miami Beach Music Festival! The all-day event will be presented bv Rafa and Friends, and features an eclectic mix of artists.

The lineup includes Miami based rock group Ovrhol, plus Isabella Velasquez. Joining them are the Miami Beach Senior Choir, Miami Beach Flamenco, School of C-Rod, plus The Trouble Makers, and Ricardo Malfatti.

The event kicks off at 2 pm and runs until 8 pm. Best of all – this event is free and open to the public!

Events in Miami Beach: South Beach Seafood Festival

Tuesday, October 22 to Sunday, October 26

Calling all seafood lovers: the South Beach Seafood Festival is coming to Lummus Park, starting on Tuesday, October 22. The five-day event will be showcasing a variety of seafood ranging from different Miami Beach venues, including Joe’s Stone Crab.

The main event begins on Tuesday with An Evening at Joe’s Stone Crab, and on Wednesday, October 23, Meat Market is hosting the Cooking & Cocktail Experience. Enjoy crabs and other bites at the pool deck at Shore Club on Thursday night, as Executive Chefs from Diez Y Seis and Shore Club, plus local eateries showcase their best ‘surf ‘n turf’ options.

The main events take place on the sands of South Beach, starting on Friday night with the VIP Chef Showdown. Miami’s best chefs will be cooking off all night and all guests will be the judge. Saturday features an all-day event with 20 selected restaurants’ pop up cafes’, complimentary open bar, plus three live music stages playing all day.

Guests can come to one event or attend all the events held throughout the week. Ticket prices range from $49 – $800, depending on which levels of admission are preferred.

Events in Miami Beach: Day of the Dead – Salsa Saturday

The Normandy Fountain Business Association has recently been founded and launched their series of events, beginning with Salsa Saturday to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Join the festivities on Saturday, October 26, which are free and open to the public.

The event will take place at the fountain, beginning with a salsa class at 6 pm. All levels of salsa dancers are welcome to the class led by Fernando Garcia. After the class, mambo bandleader Tito Puente Jr. will take the stage to play salsa music, starting at 7 pm.

Apart from the music and dancing, the event will feature a flower crown workshop from Abbott Florist and a Day of the Dead inspired face painting station, courtesy of Painting with a Twist. Guests can enjoy sangria and margaritas from Bob’s Your Uncle, plus food from local favorites Las Vacas Gordas and Silverlake Bistro.

Halloween Half Marathon

Since 2009, the Halloween Half Marathon has been an event the South Florida running community looks forward to. This run in particular is asking participants to get in the Halloween spirit, specifically by dressing up and more importantly, having fun. The starting line for both distances begins at South Pointe Park and afterward, participants can enjoy post-race activities there as well.

Not interested in running the full 13.1? The freaky four miler is also available for runners and walkers who would like to participate. All runners are encouraged to get into the spirit of the event – although costumes are optional – and will enjoy the collectible medals featuring a Halloween themed design for completing the race. Guests are also asked to come and cheer their friends on as they reach the finish line.

Registration is now open, with prices depending on which distance is chosen.

October is shaping up to be a perfect way to kick off the fall festivities! Whether you are a Salsa lover, seafood enthusiast, or avid runner, there’s an event for you on Miami Beach this month to enjoy.
