Dog Friendly Beaches & Parks in Miami Beach
If you haven’t noticed, residents of Miami Beach love their four-legged friends. Everywhere we turn there is a French Bulldog, Chihuahua or an adorable mutt strutting down the streets. The city and businesses of Miami Beach welcome these cute and cuddly pups in many restaurants, shops, parks, condominiums and apartments. Miami Beach is devoted to increasing the quality of the residents’ life and many studies show that pets keep us all healthier and happier.
Currently Miami Beach has eight dog parks and dog play areas. Be sure that your pets arrive on a leash, have current tags and are up-to-date with their vaccines. Have fun building community with your fellow Miami Beach neighbors while giving your dog some much-deserved socializing and play time.
North Beach Dog Play Area
Location: North Beach – Intersection of Brest Esplanade, Biarritz Drive and Rue Vendome.
Very recently, the city opened a new North Beach dog play area. The dogs and owners thoroughly enjoyed the grand opening of this beautifully fenced dog park. Many new friends were made!
Bark Beach
Location: North Beach – Between 80 & 81st Street Beach. Entrance is at Collins & 81st Street
Bark Beach is a sight to see! It offers shady palms and water faucets for the hot months and vast blue ocean the all year. Both the dogs and the owners enjoy the change to socialize with their neighbors. Check the website for open times. For Miami Beach residents, the daily passes are $5/day. For Non-Residents of Miami Beach, the daily passes are $29/day. The daily passes can be purchased on-site and the yearly passes can you get from North Shore Park Youth Center nearby.
North Beach Oceanside Park
Location: North Beach – Collins Avenue and 81st Street
North Beach Oceanside Park has everything for you could want. There are two separate fenced in dog run areas, benches, walking paths and doggy waste stations. There are even agility courses for dogs to learn how to do hoop jumps and doggie crawls. For the owners, you will find clean public restrooms, picnic tables, BBQs, beach access and easy parking. For safety, always follow the rules of your local dog park.
Belle Isle Park
Location: Venetian Islands in Biscayne Bay
Belle Isle Park is a quiet and tranquil place to spend some quality time with your dog. Let your pet romp and play while you enjoy a picnic overlooking Biscayne Bay.
Pinetree Bark Park
Location: Mid-Beach – 4400 Pinetree Drive in Pinetree Park
Pinetree Bark Park in Mid-Beach, Miami Beach is a great place to meet friendly dogs and friendly people. The playful atmosphere will have your pet sleeping well tonight!
Flamingo Bark Park
Location: South Beach – 13th Street & Michigan Avenue
Enjoy a beautiful sunset and fresh air while your pup exercises. Flamingo Bark Park has two play areas. One side is for small dogs and the other is for large dogs. This also makes the dog park easy to maintain while keeping the park open for use. Each park has many benches, water fountains for people and dogs, biodegradable baggie stations and plenty of shade.
South Pointe Park
Location: South Beach – 1 Washington Avenue
South Pointe Park in South Beach, Miami Beach is full of walking paths, biking paths, Miami Beach’s only fishing pier, and home to our local hotspot Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse.
Enjoy the panoramic views of Government Cut waterway while cruise ships come in and out of the Port of Miami. The sunsets from here are spectacular. South Pointe Park is currently the only park to offer an “off-leash” designated area without any fencing. Enjoy this designated off-leash area sunrise to 10:00am and 4:30pm to 8:00pm daily
Washington Avenue Bark Park
Location: South Beach – 201 2nd Street at the NE corner of Washington Avenue and 2nd Street.
Washington Avenue Bark Park is a dog haven in South Beach! It is handicap accessible and full of picnic tables to enjoy a light meal just steps from the water. Of course, watch your food when eating at the Bark Park! We do not trust those sneaky pups.
